Play

 

LMB Select sequence in the List-View & RMB select Play to preview single or multiple sequence selections with the Pro-Player or Fcheck via preferences Tip : Shift select to play multiple sequences in selection order to easily preview action continuity across shots.

Play 50 %

 

As above but at half size.

Composite

 

Shift Select foreground then background sequence and RMB composite to display result in Pro-Player Tip : If you have a separate sequence as alpha channel the select the first sequence, second sequence and then your alpha sequence, then RMB Composite or select the Toolbar button

 

Open

 

Open selected sequence or file with related application

Open-With

 

Open with - Open a selection from a number of installed utilities. Tip: Use Open with to compress sequences with Winzip or Winrar - drag them to the desktop via directory view for fast mailing via 'you send it' or ftp.

 

Save As / Record

 

RMB select Save As / Record to Transcode and batch convert Sequences to and from various formats : .iff .tif .tga .sgi .cin .jpg. .bmp .avi. etc.

Re Time

 

RMB select retime to change Frames per second or duration of sequences

Repeat Frame

 

RMB Select Repeat frame within expanded sequence to duplicate single frame. Tip : When combined with Save As this is useful for making slates at the start of tests and for quickly creating animatics from stills and sketches.

Sort

 

Sort sequence by Date, SIze, Name, Type

 

Cut

 

Cut Selected sequence form current slection and directory

Copy

 

Copy selected sequence into selected directory Tip: use Dualwindow to drag drop single or multiple sequences Dual Window Copy

Paste

 

Paste current selection into selected directory

Delete

 

Delete selected squences or selected files to recycle bin Tip : Delete sends deletions to the recycle bin

 

Reformat Sequence Filename

 

Rename, reformat, reverse, offset selected sequence or selection without transcoding sequence to new file type.     

Tip: use the copy function when first using this feature !

Rename

 

Rename sequence in listview- RMB Rename - type in new name - enter

 

Expand

 

RMB Double click on sequence to expand. Expand selected sequence to show all frames contained within. These can then be shift selected to form all or part of new sequences via reformat or Save As / Record

Set Sequence range

 

Set start and end of expected sequence when rendering to facilitate feedback from the GraphStats and the GraphView Tip: Setting sequence range allows the GraphStats to return estimated render times and list missing frames.

 

Render All Missing Frames

 

Creates Maya render script for all missing frames in a sequence. This render script can be saved and edited as a .txt file and saved as .bat if required. Select sequence with missing frames and then RMB - Render All Missing Frames.  Tip: This can also by accessed with RMB over the Graph/Stats and the GraphView.  Tip : Set sequence range to establish expected frame range.

Tip :  Render automatically names the output image name to be the same as the Maya scene file. If you keep this convention Render will go to the scenes directory and select the matching scene file automatically for rendering.

Render

 

Create render scripts for sequential Maya renders which can be edited as. txt and .bat files as required. Tip : This function can be accessd by the shortcut button on the Tool bar from any location without selecting sequences first. Tip : Render can be used to type and create any type of render script. more >>

 

Resize

 

RMB select Resize and enter new size, filter type, and output image type. Resize does Trancode the resized output.

 

Preferences

 

Set memory use : Select Pro-Player or Fcheck as image player

Clear selected from Cache

 

Clear selected from cache - removes the current visible image from cache to force a reload of the image on the next display

Clear cache

 

Clear cache - remove all images/frames from memory

 

Audio Options

 

Audio options - Wav file playback. You can assign 2 wav files to a sequence playback. Audio options allow you to playback the wav on channel A or B or listen to a mix of both (e.g. Channel A voice, channel B music)
Record options: You can record the mixed channels into a new wav, Microphone timed will record from the mic for x amounts of secs,
record audio into an AVI and extract audio from AVI.

To playback audio with a sequence you just have to add all the images and select the wav and add it to channel A. You can do this manually or by using left click select like normal.

Sequence editing tools :

Image Options

 

RGBA - Flip / Mirror - Ratio - Border colour ( RGBA - Keyboard quick key: r g b a )

 

Control Options

 

Play : Pause : Reverse : SaveAs - Record

Tip : keyboard quick keys - Left/ right arrow keys to jog up and down the timeline, - RMB scrub over the Pro-Player to play foreward and reverse - Toggle spacebar to start and stop playback.

Filters

 

RMB select Filters and choose foreground or background if the Pro-Player contains a composite.

Foreground / Background filters : Opacity ( foreground ) : Posterize : Mozaic :Blur : (Average-Median-Gaussian-Motion ) : Sharpen : Despeckle : Add Noise : Emboss : Oilify : Greyscale : Brightness : Contrast ; Hue ; Saturation : Gamma : Intensity : Invert Solarize : Rotate

Tip : If you want to save the output of the Effects filters use Save As / Record from the menu or via the red record button bottom left of the Pro-Player UI to create a new sequence.

 

Audio Options

Full Colour

 

Full Colour - switches your sequence to Full colour mode RGBA will remove any R only or Alpha only settings.

Comp Over Background

 

Comp Over Background - activates composite mode so if you have a foreground and baground with alpha you can see a composite version. (Full colour switches comp off so you can see the sequence without composite)

 

Set Slideshow defaults

 

Set Slideshow defaults - switches the player back to full colour and sets the playback to one frame a second. Basically removes any custom or other settings and sets the player up ready for slideshow playback, its a quick set up option.

Set 25 fps Video Defaults

 

Set 25 fps a second defaults - switches the player to 25 fps mode for playback. Basically removes any custom or other settings and sets the player up ready for 25fps playback, its a quick set up option.

 

Clear Cache

 

Clear cache - remove all images/frames from memory

 

Save As / Record

 

RMB Save As / Record to Transcode the current sequence to another image format :e.g: iff to tga etc...This works on all out puts from the Pro-Player including The Filters. Use the circular Red record button on the Pro-Player control bar to access

 

Border colour

 

Toggle border colour form black to 50% Grey Tip : useful for visualising rendered elements that come in and out of frame like particles

Toggle to display playback info in Pro-Player UI

Toggle to display image size details in the Pro-Player UI

 

Swap RGB -A Channels

 

Toggle display from Colour to Alpha channel

Swap Ratio

 

Toggle to swap selected ratio display : 4:3 16:9 or custom anamorphic aspect ratios

The GraphStats provides estimated render times based on sequence start and end frame as set by Set Sequence range

GraphStats makes it easy to find missing frames.

Tip : The GraphView provides instant visual feedback on render progress - click on the refresh button or set Refresh to timed interval. GraphView displays image individual frames as file sizes and missing or incomplete frames appear as dips or troughs in the graph. Tip: LMB over the GraphView or Graph/Stats to Render All Missing. Tip:To play a section of the GraphView RMB over Graph View todrag select then RMB Play to Preview with the Pr-Player
